  • As a Retreat Facilitator, I help you carve out time and go to a conducive space to focus on you, expanding your attention and awareness. And if you are a person of faith, to sit in silence before God, engaging in contemplative prayer, self-examination, and practical planning.

Awareness of your deeper resources and obstacles often takes some extended time away from distractions.

Retreats can be a half-day, full-day, or weekend; one-on-one, small groups, or large groups.

The Types of Coaching I Offer

I offer general life coaching to help you accomplish your personal or professional goals, helping you move from thinking about your vision to embodying and implementing it.

I coach navigating transitions such as aging, loss & grief, faith reconstruction, church change, and starting a new ministry.

I specialize in Christian spiritual growth and character coaching. I can help you develop positive, empowering self-awareness that helps you get in touch with how God has been fashioning you all your life and His current invitations to you, supporting your desire to clarify His calling.

Coaching has some overlap with spiritual formation and the art of spiritual direction, which is not actually humanly directed—the Holy Spirit directs. A human spiritual director asks questions and explores the ways the Spirit may be giving guidance.

Here are a few ways I can help you change on the inside so that your family, friendships, and work life are more fruitful:

  • I can help you if you’ve been wounded by churches, are rethinking your version of the Christian faith, or have failed as a Christian leader.

  • I’ve been through all three, so I know these experiences can freeze your resources and narrow your perception of opportunities.

  • I can help you reframe false narratives—and break free of the negative stories you tell yourself. Your story becomes a resource rather than a reproach.

  • I can help you overcome fear of failure as you embrace God’s gift of being yourself, rather than simply imitating those you admire.

I coach Christian creatives to communicate the value of their work and the story behind it.

I coach pastors or former pastors on how to benefit from failure and weakness and grow personally.

I coach caregivers of ailing spouses or family members to overcome emotional dysregulation and navigate the transition.

What is a Coaching Session
With Me Like?

My coaching sessions last 45 minutes to an hour and consist of three phases: agreement, awareness, and action.

In the agreement phase, I will ask you what you’d like to accomplish in the session, your desired outcome. “What would you like to walk away with today, and why is the outcome important to you?”

For example, a person might say, “I’m retiring soon, and I want to start writing.”

As the coach, I will not consult this client on publishing strategies or teach them how to write. I will try to help them gain greater awareness of their desire to write and the resources they already possess.

Once the agreement is made, I won’t try to take you somewhere else. However, you can adjust the goal of the session.

In the awareness phase, we will explore your current situation regarding what you’ve been trying to accomplish. “Are you making progress? Are you facing obstacles or inner resistance?”

In connection with the example above on writing, we’ll explore why writing is important to the client, what kind of writing they wish to engage in and for whom, how much they’ve been writing, and what has been challenging about the process.

In the action phase, we get concrete and realistic about the next steps and how we’ll know you've accomplished them.

If the client has not been writing as much as thinking about writing, we’ll start by setting weekly goals for hours spent writing (without worrying about editing or grammar)—just putting down some words and seeing what feels good, rather than discussing how to publish a book.
